6 Steps to Perfect Summer Skin

So summer is coming, there's no denying that. My skin has suffered during the winter - I got sloppy with my moisturising routine and shaved my legs less (thank god for opaque tights!) - and I need to bring some TLC back into my skin care regime. I got a busy month ahead with festivals, gigs and events and I'm praying the weather will be nice so I can wear shorts and get my legs out. I swear by the products I mention below and they all contribute to my skin feeling softer and less dimpled.

I shit you not water is the easiest and cheapest way to start prepping skin for summer (well any time of the year really but especially in the summer!) The more I drink, the better my skin feels it's as simple as that. It feels plumper, smoother and I swear it helps reduce my cellulite.

6 Steps to Perfect Summer Skin

Step 2 - Body Brush

Sanctuary - Hip and Thigh Massage Brush

I swear by body brushing to help reduce the appearance of cellulite and dimpled skin. This brush by Sanctuary is brilliant. The bristles are nice and soft and the massage part really works deep into the skin. I try to use this daily before I get into my shower when my skin is still dry. Use sweeping circular movements upwards, starting from the ankle and continue to brush upwards. I use this on my thighs, bum and hips.

Step 3 - Exfoliate

Soap & Glory - The Breakfast Scrub

This body scrub is the bomb. It smells good enough to eat, I kid you not. It smells incredible - like yummy sweet porridge. (That'll be the maple syrup scent!) The scrub is gentle enough that it doesn't feel like you are rubbing sandpaper across your body and with honey extracts and shea butter it leaves even dry skin feeling lovely and soft. I use this on my target areas such as thighs, bum and arms and it gets rid of dead skin which helps when shaving legs etc.

Step 4 - Shave

Gillette - Venus Oceana Disposable Razors

These disposable razors are fab. I use these on my underarms, bikini line and bottom of my legs. I tend to find that I get a super close shave and it leaves skin nice and soft (I swear it take off a layer of dead skin as well!). I prefer disposable razors as they are cheap and convenient - especially when travelling about.

Step 5 - Post Shave Aftercare

Nivea Men - Post Shave Balm for Sensitive Skin

Yes. This is a product for men. But recently it has become massively popular for make up artists because it works as an excellent face primer. However it is also awesome for shaving rash - specifically bikini lines. I mean stating the obvious here but it does exactly what it says it does - reduces redness and bumps and helps with in-grown hairs. Whats not to love!? I use this after shaving to prevent any itchiness and have found it much more effective then any other product.

Step 6 - Moisturise

E45 - Intense Recovery Spray Moisturiser for Very Dry Skin*

I've been very sloppy with my moisturising routine during winter. and it doesn't help that I'm also super impatient. I have recently been using a variety of spray moisturisers because it cuts down the time it takes to moisturise myself. This spray by E45 is a stand out product for me. In comparison to the other spray products I find that this product dries exceptionally fast. Like 30 seconds after applying!! It's non-greasy and instantly revives my skin. I can't stop using it! It's not currently available on Boots so I have linked the product in a non-spray format.

I don't know about you, but I can't wait for summer and to feel more confident!
